This ranking stems from a comprehensive survey that involved over 20,000 urban residents worldwide, in addition to insights from Time Out‘s network of editors.
Evaluation criteria encompassed aspects such as the quality and affordability of food, cultural richness, lively nightlife, the overall emotional impact of the city, community spirit, access to green spaces, historical sites, and more.
Securing the pinnacle of the list is New York City, while Vancouver claims the 50th position. To enhance the survey’s robustness, Time Out collaborated with Potentia Insight, a reputable research company.

From the opulence of Victoria Island to the diverse culinary and nightlife scene in Lekki, Lagos continues to be a multifaceted urban hub.
The survey reflects a high standard of living in Lagos, with a 96% happiness rate, 98% acknowledging its beauty, and a notable 92% friendliness rating.

Accra, Ghana, found itself at the 44th spot, characterized by its lively atmosphere with a population exceeding 4 million.
