Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou

Joshua, a former unified world heavyweight champion, is coming off a streak of victories, including a notable fifth-round stoppage of Otto Wallin in December.

Ngannou made a dramatic entry into professional boxing, notably knocking down Tyson Fury in his first match, although he lost by points.

The fight between Joshua and Ngannou has stirred interest, especially following Ngannou’s ranking in the WBC’s top 10 contenders after his bout with Fury.

Additionally, discussions are underway for a potential match featuring Deontay Wilder, who was also a considered opponent for Joshua but lost to Joseph Parker recently.

Saudi Arabia is becoming a frequent venue for major boxing events, with this fight following the Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk world title fight in February.

Charlie Wyett of The Sun commented that Ngannou would be a significant test for Joshua, reflecting on the growing trend of major boxing matches being held in Saudi Arabia.
