Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium

Sierra Leone is set to host the second edition of the Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium on May 12–13, 2026, in Freetown, bringing together influential global leaders, policymakers, and hundreds of emerging African changemakers for a landmark gathering focused on leadership, democracy, and human capital development.
The prestigious event is designed as a high-level platform to celebrate the leadership philosophy and vision of President Julius Maada Bio, particularly his strong commitment to advancing Human Capital Development, promoting national progress, and strengthening democratic governance in Sierra Leone and across Africa.
This year’s colloquium is expected to further position Sierra Leone as a growing center for strategic dialogue on leadership and development, while showcasing President Bio’s governance model on the international stage.
A major highlight of the 2026 edition will be the official launch of the African Young Leaders Convergence, a groundbreaking initiative that will convene 400 young leaders from across the African continent. The convergence aims to empower the next generation of African leaders by fostering collaboration, innovation, and policy engagement among youth committed to shaping Africa’s future.
