What do the colors Red, Gold, and Green in RasTafari mean?
Red denotes the blood of those shed throughout history in support of the African community.
Gold is a symbol of the tremendous richness and riches that belong to the continent of Africa.
Green represents the optimism and lushness of the Earth, namely the Ethiopian Promised Land.

The Ras Tafari colors should be in the right arrangement
RasTafari’s colors should be worn in the following order:
Top: Green, Middle: Gold, Base: Red
When His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie ordered the Ethiopian flag to be inverted during His reign, this order was in use from 1930 to the present.
To those of us of the religion, this side of the flag denotes that we have positioned love, prosperity, and peace over the country.
However, the following order wasn’t always the case:
Red, Top Gold, Center Green, and Base.
This served as a symbol for the nation’s struggle of faith for us.
The center of the flag included an image of the Lion of Judah, and it is still a favorite among Rastafarians.
The current Ethiopian flag likewise follows this pattern, but its center now features an insignia that looks like a yellow star surrounded by blue.
