Mohamed Salah joined an exclusive club of Premier League players by scoring and assisting in over 30 English Premier League matches, achieving this milestone in Liverpool’s recent win against Brentford on Saturday, February 17th.
The 31-year-old forward, returning from a hamstring injury suffered while on duty with Egypt during AFCON 2023, found the back of the net with a precise strike as Liverpool secured a 4-1 victory against Brentford.
Earlier in the match, Salah demonstrated his playmaking prowess by setting up Alexis Mac Allister’s goal, contributing to Liverpool’s second score and helping his team maintain their position atop the Premier League table.
According to the BBC, Salah’s achievement of scoring and assisting in 30 different league games places him among an esteemed group of players, including Wayne Rooney (36), Thierry Henry (32), and Alan Shearer (31).
Salah, who has amassed 15 Premier League goals this season, becomes the first African player to reach this milestone, positioning himself as a contender for another Golden Boot award, with only Erling Haaland surpassing him in the league’s top scorers’ list this season.
