StoriPod and Busha Are Powering Instant Payouts for Africa’s Growing Creator Economy.

African creators don’t lack talent — they lack access to reliable payment systems.

African creators don’t lack talent — they lack access to reliable payment systems. For years, writers across the continent have struggled to monetise their work due to slow, expensive, and restrictive cross-border payment structures. A new partnership between StoriPod and Busha is changing that narrative.

StoriPod, Nigeria’s fast-growing social storytelling platform, has partnered with Busha, the country’s first SEC-licensed digital asset exchange, to integrate stablecoin payment infrastructure that enables instant, borderless payouts for over 150,000 African creators.

StoriPod allows creators to publish stories, build communities, and earn directly from readers. With Busha’s seamless fiat-to-crypto rails, readers can now fund their StoriPod wallets using stablecoins, while writers receive instant payouts in either local currency or crypto, depending on their preference. This means a Nigerian writer can earn from readers in Kenya, South Africa, or anywhere across Africa without delays, high fees, or withdrawal restrictions.Solving the creator payments problem

For African writers, monetisation has long been a major obstacle. Global platforms such as Medium and Substack either exclude African creators entirely or introduce complex, country-by-country payment limitations. As a result, millions of African creators produce content without reliable access to earnings.

StoriPod’s community has already published over 2 million stories, yet many writers previously faced the reality of talent without compensation.“There’s no platform that enables people who write incredible stories to actually make influencer money,” said James Nelson, Founder of StoriPod. “With Busha’s infrastructure, we’ve removed every barrier between a creator’s work and their earnings. From Lagos to Accra, writers can now earn in stablecoins and cash out instantly to their local bank accounts.”

StoriPod’s monetisation model allows creators to earn from locked content, tips, and reader engagement, while keeping 70% of their total earnings. Some writers on the platform are already earning up to 20 times more than they did on traditional publishing platforms.

Infrastructure built for scale

For Busha, the partnership highlights its role beyond trading — positioning the company as a critical enterprise infrastructure provider for fintech and digital platforms building on crypto rails.

“We built Busha’s API infrastructure specifically for companies like StoriPod,” said Michael Adeyeri, CEO of Busha. “When you remove friction from creator monetisation, African talent can compete continentally and globally. We’re proud to provide the financial rails that make this possible.”

Busha’s SEC licensing, compliance standards, deep liquidity pools, and 99.9% API uptime have made it a trusted partner for Nigerian fintech startups and global companies requiring secure, institutional-grade stablecoin infrastructure.

Strong market momentum

StoriPod’s growth reflects the scale of opportunity in Africa’s creator economy. The platform grew from 50,000 users in mid-2025 to 150,000 by year-end, recording an impressive 56.7% engagement rate, far above industry averages. Users are actively creating, forming over 29,000 story communities (“pods”) monthly, and monetising content at scale.

“Platforms like Wattpad tried, but they weren’t built for African creators,” said Muhammad Sal, a digital marketing expert and StoriPod user. “StoriPod is different — it’s designed for micro-audiences and real monetisation from day one.”

With Busha’s stablecoin infrastructure enabling instant, pan-African payouts, StoriPod is redefining what’s possible for African storytellers, turning creativity into sustainable income and unlocking a new chapter for the continent’s creator economy.
