What is IFA?
IFÁ is simple ARITHMETIC LOGIC
It Is a compendium of STORIES which cover HISTORY, WISDOM, DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS, PHILOSOPHIES, POLITICS, MYSTICISM ,GEOGRAPHY, SCIENCE and so many other things from the PAST which can be recalled as PARABLES to guide today’s existence.
These things are arranged in orderly fashion into chapters and verses called ODUS which can be used as MORAL GUIDE AND ALSO A. DIVINITION TOOL guide people who may be in need of INSPIRATION.

IFA in Relation to the Bible and Quran
When your Pastor tells you that ” May the walls of Jericho in your lives fall down”
When he tells you ” Abraham’s blessings are mine”
When he says ” You will become the Esther if your generation ”
When he says all those things what do you he was doing?
He was simply referring to stories in verses/chapters of the bible, things that happened in the PAST but using them as PARABLES to your life because they are RELEVANT to your current situations.
The same thing the Muslims do when they open the Qu’ran and tell you this and that happened in Mecca and therefore today Muslims are enjoyed to act this and that way.

The Logic Behind IFA Divination System
If you go to a Babaláwo with a heavy heart, he doesn’t always have do any divination for you. He may just chat you up and ask you what troubled you.
He will then GO INTO THE IFÁ SCRIPTURES to bring stories relevant to what you have told him to give you inspiration.
For example if what worried you was the inability to conceive, the Babaláwo can take you to the book of ÒSÉ MÉJÌ which talked extensively about the matter just as the book of Genesis talked extensively about the barren conditions of Sarah.
He can talk to you from the book of ÒTÚRÀ MÉJÌ which guarantees peace, love and harmony
He only has to do divinition if he felt you mind need the added support of the spiritual.

IFA Covers All Subject on Earth
As stated earlier, my understanding of the concept of IFA from my studies so far is that the 256 chapters/verses of IFÁ cover EVERYTHING OF ALL POSSIBLE SUBJECTS on earth.
From Philosophy, Science, Religion, Poetry, Art, Mystics etc. such that there is ALWAYS a chapter or verse therein which touches on whatever it is that may trouble your soul or be the reason you sought divination.
So, when you speak to the Òpèlè and the Babaláwo cast it, because the Òpèlè has proven to be able to hear and interpret sounds into words.
It will always display a binary combination on the ground which will always lead the Babaláwo to the verse of the IFÁ scriptures whose PARABLES are relevant to the reason for divination or guidance you needed.
It will also tell you what to do to get your salvation.
And it is always correct.
Our Elders say: IFÁ doesn’t tell lies, doesn’t deceive and doesn’t engage in hypocrisy/gossip/backbiting
